  • Green Tree Pythons use the tip of their tails as a lure, wiggling it to attract an animal for food.
  • Green Tree Pythons can catch a bird in flight from a tree.
  • Males and females stop eating during the mating season, with the males not eating for more than five months out of the year.
 
WHO WE ARE
  • Green Tree Pythons live mostly in trees, but sometimes can be found on the ground, too.
  • They grow to be anywhere between 64" to 72".
  • They are generally green in color, but can also be partially yellow or blue.
 
WHAT WE DO
  • They eat small reptiles, birds, mammals, lizards, bats and other creatures that live in trees.
  • Green Tree Pythons kill by squeezing their prey.
  • They hunt by noticing the change in temperature in the air around them.
 
WHERE WE LIVE IN THE WORLD
They live on the northern tip of Australia and New Guinea.
